Animal Eye Clinic offers CERF examinations Monday-Thursday. Appointments are required for each patient. As a courtesy, we ask that you arrive ten minutes before your examination time to fill out the CERF form and to allow for dilation. CERF forms are triplicate and must be filled out at your appointment time.
Each examination screens for ocular diseases that are considered inherited, which differ between breeds. Dr. Paulsen examines performs a full ophthalmic examination of both eyes at each exam. Because inherited eye diseases can appear at anytime during an animal's lifetime, CERF examinations can be done as early as 6 weeks of age and are required annually.
