Animal Eye Clinic is a referral practice, and sees patients by appointment only. Initial examinations take 30-45 minutes, unless additional diagnostic testing or dilation are required. Each initial examination begins with standard diagnostic testing to establish a baseline ocular health for the patient. The attending nurse will obtain a history, including the duration of the problem, which eye is affected, current medications, and any other pertinant information. Once the nurse has completed the testing and history, the ophthalmologist will perform the examination. The ophthalmic examination involves a full evaluation of the eyelids, cornea, anterior and posterior segment of each eye. After the examination is completed, the doctor will discuss the diagnosis as well as any further treatment. If further diagnostic tests or surgery are required, a nurse will discuss the estimate with you.
Animal Eye Clinic encourages questions and discussion during the examination.

Animal Eye Clinic strives to remain on time for our patients, however, it is impossible to anticipate emergency situations. Therefore, we kindly ask for your patience should we run behind schedule.
We try to accomodate those who miss their appointment time, but we will always honor the appointment times of others.

| Initial Examinations (Drop Off) |
Due to the nature of our practice, it is difficult to examine each patient at a scheduled appointment time. In emergency situations, Animal Eye Clinic offers "Drop off" appointments. These appointments are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment only. The patient is to be dropped off at our facility between 7am and 9am. It is important that all the patient's current medications are left with them, as our staff will continue treatment as needed. Examinations of drop off patients are done between surgeries and existing appointments, therefore a time cannot be guaranteed.
Additional fees are incurred for drop off examinations.
