Our Commitment To Your Time.
We do our very best to see every patient right on time. Because we treat critical eye conditions, unexpected emergencies can sometimes alter our schedule. If we are running behind, please know we are working hard to provide every pet with the focused care they deserve, and we thank you for your understanding.
If you happen to miss your appointment time, we will make every effort to accommodate you as soon as possible without delaying the patients who arrived for their scheduled slots.

Animal Eye Clinic is a specialized referral practice, and our patients are seen by appointment only. A standard initial examination takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. However, please allow extra time if your pet requires advanced diagnostic testing or pupil dilation.
To ensure your pet receives the highest quality care, every initial visit follows a thorough, step-by-step process to establish a baseline for their ocular health:
1. History & Preliminary Testing
Your visit begins with an attending technician who will gather your pet's medical history. They will note the duration of the eye issue, which eye is affected, current medications, and any other relevant health details. The technician will then perform initial standard diagnostic tests.2. Comprehensive Ophthalmic Exam
Once the history and baseline tests are complete, our veterinary ophthalmologist will perform a detailed examination. This includes a full evaluation of both eyes, specifically checking the eyelids, cornea, and the anterior and posterior segments. Digital photographs of your pet’s eye(s) are taken at each examination. These images are then imported into your pet’s medical record to easily track your pet’s ocular health.3. Diagnosis & Next Steps
Following the exam, the doctor will sit down with you to discuss the diagnosis and outline a customized treatment plan. We highly encourage questions and open discussion during this time to ensure you feel comfortable with the next steps.4. Estimates & Scheduling
If your pet requires further specialized diagnostic testing or surgery, your technician will provide you with a detailed financial estimate and discuss the plan moving forward. -

Because we balance specialized medical exams with complex surgical procedures, we know scheduling a traditional appointment around a busy work week can be challenging. To make your life easier, Animal Eye Clinic offers convenient daytime "Drop-Off" appointments.
How It Works
· Schedule: Drop-off slots are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment only.
· Arrival: Please bring your pet to our facility between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
· Medications: Remember to bring all of your pet's current eye drops and medications. Our staff will seamlessly continue their treatment schedule throughout the day at no extra cost.
· Timeline: The doctor examines drop-off patients between scheduled surgeries and appointments. While we cannot guarantee an exact completion time, we always work diligently to respect your schedule.
Picking Up Your Pet
You are welcome to leave your pet with us for the day if you are unable to pick them up immediately after their exam. We ask that all drop-off patients be picked up by 4:30 PM. This ensures the doctor has dedicated time to sit down with you and thoroughly discuss their findings and next steps. Please note that a minimal additional fee applies for the drop-off service, which covers your pet's day stay with us.

Animal Eye Clinic is proud to support the breeding community by providing official breed screening examinations through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) Companion Animal Eye Registry (CAER).
Why Schedule an OFA Eye Exam?
These screenings assess dogs for hereditary eye conditions, helping breeders make informed genetic choices to reduce the incidence of blinding eye diseases in the canine population. Because these are specialized evaluations, only board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists are authorized to perform and certify these official registry exams.Appointment Expectations
· Drops are placed in both eyes to fully dilate the pupils 30 minutes prior to the physical examination.
· The doctor will perform a complete, non-invasive ophthalmic evaluation of the entire eye structure.
· Owners will receive a copy of the official OFA form to submit to the registry database.
Please remember to bring all relevant registration and microchip details for your dog so we can properly complete your official certification paperwork.
